I bought these faux leather shorts at the end of last Fall after a last minute wardrobe crisis made me realize the necessity of owning a pair. Since then, I’ve packed them in suitcases bound for NYC, Paris, London, etc. but never had a chance to wear them (read: weather never cooperated in these four season locales).

But this past weekend the weather was absolutely stunning here in Silicon Valley — it felt like near summer. It was the perfect opportunity to take these babies for a test run. I love how they can either dress down or up, be for day or for night — a very welcome addition to my wardrobe.

And just a quick note about styling this outfit, I realized that a statement necklace (like the one above from Anthropologie) can look intriguing layered underneath a shirt — almost as though it’s a body chain. And, as always, my favorite DKNY jacket elevates all outfits. Happy Wednesday! xx
