I have never packed as poorly as I packed for Paris. Even though I saw the numbers on forecasts, I didn’t let the true meanings of those numbers fully register in my brain — choosing to not believe the harsh reality of how cold Paris would be in January.

We only saw the sun for 3 days out of the 15 we were in Europe. I often dressed as I did above — but with four more layers on top. I call the style that I brought to Paris “California Girl Casual.” But now that I’m back in California, I’ll be steering clear of that theme.
